The Town of Beaufort welcomes and encourages Special Events because they are an important part of our citizen's quality of life, build a sense of community and create an environment that fosters civic pride.
A Special Event is any non-routine activity within the Town that brings together a large number of people that will significantly impact the surrounding community, involve the increased use of Town services and require additional planning, preparedness and mitigation efforts of the local emergency response and public safety agencies.
Special events may include, but are not limited to the following event types: festivals, carnivals, marches, demonstrations, parades, walks, block/street parties and sport tournaments.
If your event will require a waiver for the use and consumption of alcoholic beverage on public property, the request will have to be presented to the Board of Commissioners before the event. They meet at 6 p.m. the second Monday of the month in the Train Depot, 614 Broad St. Your application will need to be to the Town Clerk, Jennifer Allen at email@example.com, no later than the prior Monday.
