The Town of Beaufort has created a benevolent fund to help citizens who may need assistance in paying their utility bills.  Donations can be made by anyone who wishes to contribute.  Donations can be submitted by check made payable to Donations-Town of Beaufort with a memo of Benevolent Fund noted on the check.  Automatic bank drafts are also available, especially for those who wish to make recurring donations. 

Requests for assistance should be made through the Carteret County Department of Social Services.  There is a annual maximum benefit for those receiving assistance.
